How, and when, do I apply for the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Promise Scholarship?

Every high school freshman in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s district is eligible for the Promise program. Students must apply before December 15^th of their freshman year. Students will recommit each year by September 1^st after applying their freshman year.

Eligibility, what is the criteria for participation while attending high school?

• Maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA
• 90% attendance each year
• Complete 9 credit hours of dual credit course by the END of their senior year
• Complete the required FAFSA application and ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Foundation Scholarship Application senior year
• Must take math all 4-years of high school
• Must take ORI 100 the summer after graduating high school through the College Bridge Program (or sooner through Early College)

What type of educational programs does the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Promise Scholarship Program include?

The ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Promise Scholarship Program supports the variety of post-secondary plans that students may be interested in pursuing while attending ÐÔÊӽ紫ý. Once in attendance at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, Promise students will develop an academic plan to determine what degree or certificate path they want to pursue using the scholarship. Students will work with an academic advisor and base those plans on their individual needs to transfer from ÐÔÊӽ紫ý to a four-year university and/or obtain a career that leads to immediate employment. See our various program options here.

Who is the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Promise Scholarship for?

Every eligible high school student in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s district starting their freshman year of high school. Students are only eligible to join their freshman year.

Eligibility, I am new to the high school, and it is past December of my freshman year. Can I participate?

This is on a case by case basis. Please complete the appeals form to be considered.

If I meet all the criteria, can I graduate after the first semester of my senior year and still be eligible for the Promise program?

Yes. A student who graduates early can still qualify. A student who graduates early is encouraged to enroll the semester after graduation but MUST enroll at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý no later than the fall of the academic year following high school graduation.

Is there an appeals process if I do not meet the Promise Program criteria?

The program does offer the opportunity to appeal eligibility determinations in the event of extraordinary circumstances. If a student is interested in an appeal, please complete this online form. Appeals are anonymous and will be reviewed by a committee.

What are the requirements while enrolled at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý to maintain the scholarship?

This is to be determined. It will be similar to the high school criteria.

What does the Promise Scholarship cover?

If you meet your requirements in high school, you’ll earn the first semester of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý tuition free. You can continue to attend ÐÔÊӽ紫ý tuition-free, semester by semester, for up to four semesters (63 credit hours*), if you meet the required criteria at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý (TBD). The Promise Scholarship will cover any remaining tuition costs after other scholarships and financial aid have been applied.

*Credits earned before entering ÐÔÊӽ紫ý will count toward the 63 credit hour limit the Promise Program will pay. This includes dual credit and early college.
