Online Proctoring (Verity)

YuJa Verity is ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s online proctoring solution for online courses. Verity integrates with D2L Brightspace to help maintain academic integrity during online assessments while allowing students to complete proctored exams from an appropriate testing location.

Your instructor will determine which assessments require Verity and which proctoring settings are used.

What You’ll Need

Before taking a Verity-proctored assessment, students should be prepared with the equipment and resources required by their instructor’s selected proctoring settings.

  • PC or mobile devices
  • Stable internet connection
  • YuJa Verity Browser Extension and/or Mobile App
  • Webcam & microphone (built-in or external)
  • Valid photo ID (student ID, driver’s license, or government-issued)
  • Quiet space without interruptions

: Check YuJa’s current system requirements before your assessment to make sure your device and browser are supported.

Before Your First Proctored Assessment

  1. Install the Verity Browser Extension

Students access Verity from their D2L course and can install the required extension as part of the setup process.

Accessing Verity browser extension and app guide

  1. Allow the Required Browser Permissions (Enable Incognito Mode)

The Verity extension requires certain browser permissions to provide proctoring features during an assessment. When taking a proctored assessment, you will be required to enable incognito mode. Follow the setup instructions provided by Verity and allow the permissions necessary for your assessment.

How It Works – Student Experience

  • Students must install the Verity extension to their browser or Mobile App to their device (Install Verity Guide)
  • The extension can be accessed in your D2L course
  • Must enable in the extension settings.
  • Student launches the exam/quiz from their D2L course.
  • System requests access to camera and microphone.
  • Student completes ID verification
  • Verity monitors during the exam.
  • Student submits exam as normal.

Before Your Exam
